Blake Stanbery

Blake Stanbery is the founder of Creative Minds Christian Preschool and is the Lead Pastor at New Covenant Church in Clyde, NC. He has been a leader in education, finance, and ministry in the region. His mission is to build healthy communities that glorify God.

Blake holds a BSBA from Appalachian State University and a Masters in Education from Liberty University. He was a licensed CPA in North Carolina and has held licenses as a teacher, administrator, and school superintendent with the Association of Christian Schools International. During his career, Blake has launched a church campus, an accredited Christian preK-12th grade school, and a tutoring center for dyslexic children.

Blake is married to Rebecca, and they have three children – Hayes, Hattie and Hayden. You can follow him on Facebook and Instagram.

FOUNDER


Amy Cherbony

Amy Cherbony is the administrator of Creative Minds Christian Preschool and is the Family Ministries Pastor at New Covenant Church. Amy holds a BA in Youth Ministry and Theology from Central Bible College and has worked in Family Ministries for over twenty-eight years in six states.  She has also homeschooled her children for over sixteen years utilizing Abeka elementary curriculum. 


As the administrator, Amy has been essential in building the foundation of Creative Minds Christian Preschool and is passionate about equipping preschool children with a biblically based, strong academic learning environment with a focus on creative arts.  Her desire is that every child would know the love of God and their identity as His child. 


Amy is married to Herman and they have three amazing children- Josiah, Beth and Elijah.  She enjoys hiking, finding treasures by thrifting, snuggling up with a good book, or scrapbooking.

ADMINISTRATOR


Mikesha Ledlow

Mikesha Ledlow is the Director of Creative Minds Christian Preschool. She has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University and over twelve years of preschool teaching experience. She also homeschooled her two children for seven years utilizing the Abeka curriculum.  Her love for teaching started as a teenager volunteering in children's ministry and serving in overseas missions.  She believes each child is a valued creation of God and strives to make a difference by guiding the next generation through Christian education.

Mikesha is married to Luke and they have two beautiful children, Elijah and HaDassah. She enjoys dancing, singing, animals, foods from different countries, and exploring the outdoors. Mikesha has traveled to over ten countries and all around the USA.

DIRECTOR


Emily Kellogg

Emily Kellogg is a teacher at Creative Minds Christian Preschool and holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a Specialization in Child and Adolescent Therapy. She worked as a licensed child and adolescent therapist for 12 years before God transitioned her to work as a preschool teacher. Emily has a huge passion to help children grow emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. She has a heart for educating our future generations toward a heart for God.

On the weekends, Emily enjoys baking, painting, watering her flower garden, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and cat named Sammy.

Jill Gevjan

Jill Gevjan is a teacher at Creative Minds Christian Preschool and holds two Bachelor's Degrees in both Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Missouri Baptist University.  She has over fifteen years of preschool experience, plus fourteen years of homeschooling. She has also taught children in Family Ministries for over twenty years.  It is of the utmost importance to Jill that every child feels safe, loved and seen and enjoys learning. 


Jill is married to Rob Gevjan and they have four beautiful children: Tabitha, Naomi, Benjamin and Isaiah. In her free time, Jill likes to spend time with family and friends and enjoys playing games, hiking, swimming in rivers and jumping along the rocks. She also likes to read, do Zumba and sings in the Voices in the Laurel Legacy adult choir.

TEACHER


Joyce Bryson

Joyce Bryson is a teacher at Creative Minds Christian Preschool. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Carolina University with a concentration in Early Child Development.  Joyce has served as a preschool teacher for eight years and was the Director of Child Development Centers and a Methodist Church Preschool for six years. She was also an avid teacher of the Abeka curriculum for sixteen years as a Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher at several private Christian schools in Georgia.  Most recently, Joyce retired after ten years as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for Children’s Developmental Services Agency of WNC.  Joyce has a life-long love for young children and enjoys teaching the Bible. She is inspired to implant a love for God in each child's heart and for them to know how much God loves them. 

Joyce has three successful grown daughters and also has two lovely grandchildren. She enjoys backyard bird watching, hiking and flower gardening.
